Srila Prabhupada’s birthplace, or Janmasthan, was rented by his father Bhaktivinoda Thakur when he was the district magistrate of Puri. This historical site was very difficult to secure; however, the strong desires of Srila Bhakti Dayita Madhava Maharaja and the tireless efforts of
Srila Bhakti Ballabh Tirtha Maharaja brought the birthplace site back to the Gaudiya family.
The Sri Chaitanya Gaudiya Math restored the place and built a beautiful Jagannatha and Mahaprabhu Nayani Mani Temple. A museum with 3D panels of the life of Srila Prabhupada was also established there. Today there is a guest house for devotees, and the site has become a place of pilgrimage for the whole Sarasvat family.
The office of the Vishva Vaishnava Raj Sabha for Puri was established here for the service of the entire parampara in 2013.
