For the Hero whose Example will Purify All Others

His life story should be included in every (school’s) history books

Swami Vivekananda is world famous even though he himself converted only one western lady, Sister Nivedana to Hinduism. Albert Schweitzer opened only one clinic in Lambaréné, Africa. The reason they are still famous is that their contributions have continued to be talked about and publicized. This has been neglected in the case of India’s greatest international hero of divine love, Srila Prabhupada. Gandhi is famous for his non-violent struggle to free India from British rule, but today India has become a slave to the bad habits of the western lifestyle, like watching television, consumerism, and addiction. To a large extent, India has forgotten to glorify Gandhi’s call for simple living, cow protection, khadi use, cottage industries, self-sufficiency, and independence. Modern India has put Gandhi on every bill, but India’s citizens are not following Gandhi’s will.

Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Prabhupada was a true representative of Gandhi’s ideals and Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu’s message of divine love. Even today, many of those all over the world who are inspired by him follow an exemplary lifestyle. Today we need to give faith to our younger generations by teaching them about his message of love, showing them what one man can do for the world, and by telling them stories about Srila Prabhupada.
